Eating out in hyderabad

Paradise : Biriyani here is very famous , but very costly to eat out there. We can see a big rush in the parcel section here as there is a huge difference in the price for the same item.
Bawarchi  : There are so many restaurants with this name in Hyderabad . But the real one with real smack is the one which is located nearby RTC cross roads. The food is nice and is very economical too. They are famous for their  “hyderbad” biriyani and the grilled chicken.
Nanking : Very cheap and economical and food is tasty.
Reshmi’s : this is located opposite to Nanking . Excellent ambience and you  have plenty of things to experiment from the menu..Apollo fish here is lip-smacking.
Time Square :Located at Secunderabad near clock tower.Nice buffet with nice ambience.

Ohri's : located at Jalvihar , necklace road ,hyderabad. Nice ambience .At 70MM  in ohri's ,we will be having our buffet in between some statues and photos of  old film stars. And also there is live music there sung by a Punjabi. The food over there is normal but full marks goes to the ambience. Non veg items are comparatively less.Dessert section is good there in 70 MM.The dinner buffet is for Rs 375/person, but with taxes and all it will cost something around Rs 500 per person.

Barbeque Nation : yummy….!! Fantabulous ..!!Ultimate food experience.A bit expensive (Rs 720 including tax per person) but  worthy..located opposite to city centre mall in Banjara hills. Nice variety of kebabs  as starters , then main course and finally delicious desserts…They will continue serving starters until the flag kept on our table is put  down.

E-filing of Income Tax Returns

I did my first e-filing (without digital signing) of tax returns in the AY(Assessment Year) 2011-12. And that seemed to be pretty easy for me. The interesting part is that you don’t have to depend on others to file your tax returns. For those who are trying to use it for the first time , here are the steps for the e-filing of ITR-1 form.

Ø  Select the appropriate form from the below site  https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/selectforms.do

Ø  Once you have selected which ITR form you need to fill , download it from https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/downloads.do

Ø  Fill your form offline and generate the XML file . The XML file can be created by clicking on the generate button in the excel form. The created XML file will be automatically named like ITRn_.xml (eg. ITR1_XXXXXNNNNX.xml

Ø  Go to the website  https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/portal/index.do   .Register in the site by entering your PAN card number as the user ID and with some password.

While registering you are supposed to enter the same name as when you filled your PAN application form.If the registration fails – saying that your name doesn’t match with the PAN number , then it means that you have entered a different name from the PAN application form. So next what you need to do is get your correct name(as registered in PAN department or as you filled in your PAN application form) from your PAN number.

For getting that go to the site  http://www.simpletaxindia.org/2007/10/know-your-pan-address.html .  From this site you will get your PAN address from your PAN no:

Ø  Login and select the assessment year (eg. AY 2011-12) under the “SUBMIT RETURN” on the left side panel.

Ø  This will lead to the  ‘upload your returns’ page where in you need to select your respective ITR form .
And select “No” for the question ‘Do you want to Digitally Sign the File’

Ø  By clicking next you will have to upload your XML file.

Ø  On successful upload acknowledgement details would be displayed. Click on "Print" to generate printout of acknowledgement/ITR-V Form.

Ø  Incase the return is digitally signed, on generation of "Acknowledgement" the Return Filing process gets completed. You may take a printout of the Acknowledgement for your record.

Ø  Incase the return is not digitally signed, on successful uploading of e-Return, the ITR-V Form would be generated which needs to be printed by the tax payers. This is an acknowledgement cum verification form. A duly signed ITR-V form should be mailed to “Income Tax Department – CPC, Post Bag No - 1, Electronic City Post Office, Bengaluru - 560100, Karnataka, ” BY ORDINARY POST OR SPEED POST ONLY   within 120 days of transmitting the data electronically

ITR-V sent by Registered Post or Courier will not be accepted.
No Form ITR-V shall be received in any other office of the Income-tax Department or in any other manner. In case, Form ITR-V, is furnished after the above mentioned period, it will be deemed that the return in respect of which the Form ITR-V has been filed was never furnished and it shall be incumbent on the assessee to electronically re-transmit the data and follow it up by submitting the new Form ITR-V within 120 days.

This completes the Return filing process for non-digitally signed Returns. But you will have to receive one acknowledgement email from CPC (Centralized Processing Center) Bangalore telling that they have received your signed copy of ITR-V.Once you receive that email you have successfully completed the e-filing of your returns !!!

Now if you have not received the acknowledgement email from CPC within some two weeks then you may have to resend the signed ITR-V form. So in order to make sure that we will get the Acknowledgement we need to follow certain ‘Dos and Dont's for printing and submitting of ITR-Vs to  ITD-CPC Bangalore’ .

Dos and Dont's for printing and submitting of ITR-Vs to  ITD-CPC Bangalore :

  • Please use Ink Jet /Laser printer to print the ITR-V Form.
  • Avoid printing on Dot Matrix printer.
  • The ITR-V Form should be printed only in black ink.
  • Do not use any other ink option to print ITR V.
  • Ensure that print out is clear and not light print/faded copy.

  • The document that is mailed to CPC should be signed in original in BLUE INK.
  • Photocopy of signatures will not be accepted.

  • Bar code and numbers below barcode should be clearly visible.
  • Only A4 size white paper should be used.
  • Avoid typing anything at the back of the paper.
  • Perforated paper or any other size paper should be avoided.
  • Do not use stapler on ITR V acknowledgement.
  • In case you are submitting original and revised returns, do not print them back to back. Use two separate papers for printing ITR-Vs separately.
  • More than one ITR-V can be sent in the same envelope.
  • Please do not submit any annexures, covering letter, pre stamped envelopes etc. along with ITR-V.
  • The ITR-V form is required to be sent to Post Bag No.1, Electronic City Post Office, Bengaluru, Karnataka-560100, by ordinary post or speedpost.
  • ITR-Vs that do not conform to the above specifications may get rejected or acknowledgement of receipt may get delayed.

To find out the status of ITR-V ,you can track it online in the website .The link is

Itinerary for the 3 day Hyderabad trip from bangalore

The bangalore guys can always plan for a 3 day trip to Hyderabad and  Here I am mentioning  some of the important places which they have to visit during their trip.

Day 1
·         8am  - 9.30am : Arrival ,Check in of the room , freshen up , have break fast ..:)
·         10am – 2PM  : Look for a nice movie in the IMAX Screen (world's largest IMAX-3D Screen) in the Prasadz multiplex.Dont miss the chance as this is available only in 4 metro cities  in India –Hyderabad , Mumbai ,Ahmadabad and Luknow. If you plan to see the movie , u need to book the ticket online one week back.
·         2pm -3pm : Have lunch from the Prasadz multiplex itself – Subway, KFC etc is there..U can roam around also there as it is a small mall as well.
·         3pm-5 pm : NTR garden – Remember NTR garden will be open only at 2.30pm .So don’t plan to come here before that in case you are not watching any movie in IMAX.It is just at the back side of IMAX .May be 1KM to the entrance of it..you can walk –but better catch an auto to save time .In NTR garden you can take a lot of snapshots with the beautiful garden behind you(and can take some snacks too !! as it is tea time). You can  board the train as it will help you to see the entire garden at one stretch . After that just go to the different sites that you liked.
·         5pm – 7pm : Lumbini Park – Again there is just 1Km from NTR to Lumbini entrance gate.It is a small park besides the Hussain Sagar lake. You can go to the Great Buddha Statue in the middle of the lake in  Boat. But the important part in the Lumbini is the “laser show” which you should not miss. It will start @ 7pm.So better you find out the spot where the laser show is as soon as you enter the park and then go for other things like boating and all.
·         7.30pm -8.30pm : Birla temple :(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birla_Mandir,_Hyderabad) – Temple constructed fully with white marbles. From the top of it you can see the entire twin cities (Hyderabad-secunderabad).After the laser show gets over @7.30pm get an auto to Birla temple. It is just another 1km from Lumbini  to the temple.
·         For dinner you can go to “Eat street” .It is in the necklace road (road opposite to IMAX road..)

Day 2 :
Film City : the starting ceremony of film city is at 9.30am.But the busses usually reach at 10.30-11am.You need to book the bus ticket to Film city (Rs500 per person) in advance in any travel agency which supports Film city .After reaching the Film city ,u need to take the entrance ticket which is another Rs400/person.After that there  will be that strange red buses that you have seen in the movie Udayananu tharam. They will take us in that bus and show us the glimpses of the entire film city. After that they will leave us at a place and from there onwards we can walk around and see the places and take photographs  etc. Please remember to collect the pamphlet  of the Film city where in they will specify the maps and the different shows they are conducting for us.Don’t miss  any of the show especially the “stunt show” , “movie show” etc.See the time of that show and reach that spot at the correct time.So plan your route of the roam-around in such a way that you will reach the “show spot” easily at the right time.Lunch can be taken in any of the hotel inside (a bit costly and they will not allow us to take inside our own food items)..So enjoy and take a lot of snapshots with different backgrounds as in the movie ….so have a good digital camera with you..So at around 5.30pm you have to get back to the point where the travel agency fellow tells and that’s it …He will take you back to the point from where he picked you up.

Day 3
Last day – here I will be telling some important tourist places in Hyderabad. You can make your own choices based on interest and the time availability.
·         Charminar : Approx <1hr journey from IMAX. There you can go to the top of the charminar by paying some Rs 5 / person. And bottom – full shopping with bargaining. What I heard is you can bargain upto one fourth of the initial price. You can try some pearls also there –but no guarantee..

Historical Charminar...

·         Now if you are interested in museums – there is one Salar junk Museum just 3 Km away from Charminar…very big ---somethings are very good in that…but it is too big that people like me get bored easily. So may be you can have a fast glance at everything.
·         Now if you want shopping in Malls , there is Hyderabad central and then there is GVK One Mall (another 2 Km from Hyd Central)and The city centre (0.5 Km from GVK mall).GVK Mall may be worth seeing .
·          Also If you want to purchase good pearls there is one “Jagadamba Pearls “ in Paradise Circle.Pearl bangles ,earings and everything in different ranges we can get there . Paradise circle will be on the other side of Lumbini park and all. These are all coming surrounding the Hussain sagar lake.
·         The paradise circle got its name because of the big and the famous hotel named “The paradise”
You can have biriyani from there..but just remember that the one  Hyderabad biriyani will be as costly as Rs 150 and can be taken by two normal persons. But What I felt is th paradise biriyani has lost its earlier charm , but still you can manage with it.
·         Snow world :  is an amusement park .This is located in the lower tank bund road.  200 tonnes of artificial snow was laid on the layered flooring which was specially prepared to avoid seepage or melting. Every day, the top layer of snow is cleaned and an additional two to three tonnes of snow, which is generated within the facility, is used to top the snow spread. The artificial snow is made using a patented technology from Australia. The water used is filtered four times before utilizing it to make snow such that even if children consume it, they will not be harmed. Here you can spend around 1 hour or so and can play in snow as if you are in Kashmir or Shimla..But a bit costly for the small time they permit—around Rs 450 per person. No need to carry special dresses for that , they will provide their coats , gloves and all.Worth to go once if you not planning to go to Kashmir or the likes in the near future ..Every visitor gets acclimatised to lower temperatures in a step-wise manner, 20 °C (68 °F), then 0 °C, and then a sub zero temperature. This method is approved internationally.
